RPM Italian

Right before finals, we met my brother at RPM Italian for dinner on Sunday. I had really high hopes with all the press the restaurant has been receiving recently. Not to mention it's a part of the same restaurant group as Paris Club, and Hub 51! When we got there, we got a chance to see the beautifully decorated restaurant as we were led to our table. It had a very trendy feel with all the sleek black and white, which was a pleasant surprise. Our waiter was as nice as could be, and gave us some great recommendations for what to order! To start, we ordered the charred pepperoni pizzette, fried olives, and the roman style artichokes. Per our waiters insistence, my dad ordered the tuna crudo which he really enjoyed. Everything was so beautifully presented, I was excited for our entrees. I got the classic spaghetti and meatball. It was fantastic! The meatball was so tender and flavorful in a marinara sauce with lots of roasted garlic and herbs. The homemade pasta was also delicious, and cooked to the perfect consistency. My brother ordered the king crab with squid ink spaghetti which looked so beautiful, and was really flavorful as well! He and my dad really enjoyed it. My mom ordered the short rib pappardelle, which was just as rich as it sounds! We ended off our delicious meal with pistachio gelato and "tartufo"- hazelnut gelato in a chocolate shell! Both were so delicious. I can't decide which one I liked more, the classic pistachio or the equally rich and creamy tartufo! Besides the delicious food and sleek interior, my favorite part about RPM Italian was its simplicity and portioning. It had all the classic tastes and flavors of a traditional italian restaurant, but without the gigantic portions. I really enjoyed my experience there, and I can't wait to get back!
